While studying ‘Civil Engineering’ in the ‘College of Engineering, Pune’, he started composing music for the plays their college performed in the prestigious ‘Firodiya Karandak’, an one act intercollegiate theatre competition. Since then, there has been no looking back. Music is life for Narendra Sadashiv Bhide , one of the contemporary music directors.
He started learning Harmonium from Shri. Balasaheb Mate, at an early age. He sat at the feet of prima donnas such as Ustaad Mohammad Hussein Khan, Shri. Sudhir Datar, Sou. Shaila Datar, Shri. Suhas Datar. He got his training in Western Classical Music from Shri. Hemant Godbole. He got valuable guidance from noted Indian Classical vocalist and a reputed name in Marathi Music Theatre, Swararaj Chhota Gandharva. He has arranged music for stalwarts like Shri. Anand Modak, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia etc. He has also composed music for various productions including the Indian official Oscar entry ‘Harischandrachi Factory’ and the blockbuster ‘Mulshi Pattern’ or critically acclaimed plays like ‘Ashadhatil Ek Divas’ or dance dramas like ‘Mahabharata Reinterpreted’. He has won the state award for best music thrice.
Apart from music Narendra has wide passion in Films, Books, Travel, Food, Lifestyle etc. and if not composing music inside his room, you will find Narendra casually drinking a cup of tea, laughing and sharing vivid memories, or posting a funny Facebook caption.
